The Ashland boys placed 7th in the meet. Jackson Fiamoncini led the way for the Oredockers, finishing 21st.

Oredockers Drop To 0-2 With 38-12 Loss To Hurley
Max Blamey rushed for 131 yards on 23 carries and scored 3 touchdowns to lead the Hurley North Stars to a 38-12 win over the Ashland Oredockers on August 27th at Weikal Field. Oredockers Drop Opener to Tigers
The Northwestern Tigers rolled up 330 yards in the first half - 169 rushing and 161 passing - to defeat the Ashland Oredockers, 42-7, in the season-opener on Friday, August 20th, at Oredocker Stadium's Weikal Field. Northwestern finished the game with 457 total yards. The Tigers took the opening kickoff and marched 62 yards in 11 plays before being stopped on downs at the Ashland 18 yard line. But a short Oredocker punt after a three-and-out gave the Tigers a first down at the Ashland 34 and it took Northwestern just 4 plays to get into the end zone when Greg Ohman scored from 15 yards out. Dawson Kriske kicked the first of his 6 extra point to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead with 3:49 left in the first quarter. Northwestern scored 3 touchdowns in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-0 halftime lead. Ohman scored his 2nd touchdown on an 11-yard run with 11:11 left in the half, culminating 5-play, 40-yard drive. After the Oredockers' 3rd three-and-out of the game, the Tigers took over at their own 31 yard line. After an incomplete pass, quarterback Luke Sedin connected with Tanner Kaufman on a 50-yard pass play to the Ashland 19. Austin Schlies then ran it in from there with 8:36 on the clock to make it 21-0. On their next series, the Tigers took over on their own 26 and took just 4 plays to score, with the touchdown coming on an 11-yard pass from Sedin to Kaufman with 2:31 left in the half.

Ashland-Northwestern Rivalry Resumes
For 41 consecutive seasons, the Ashland Oredockers and the Northwestern Tigers opened the football season with a non-conference game. It was one of the longest-running season-opening rivalries in the State of Wisconsin. But that ended after the 2018 opener.

Oredockers Join Heart of the North Conference
Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, the Ashland Oredockers will be members of the Heart of the North Conference for most sports except football, hockey, girls tennis, and gymnastics. The football team will continue to play in the Great Northern Conference, and the HON does not have a conference for hockey, tennis and gymnastics. The HON now consists of 10 teams: Ashland, Northwestern, Hayward, Spooner, Cumberland, St. Croix Falls, Ladysmith, Barron, Cameron, and Chetek-Weyerhauser. Like Ashland, Hayward is also a member of the Great Northern Conference for football only. In early 2021, both Ashland and Hayward petitioned the WIAA to move to the HON for football as well, but their petitions were denied.
