| Oredockers Join Heart of the North Conference |

Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, the Ashland Oredockers will be members of the Heart of the North Conference for most sports except football,hockey, girls tennis, and gymnastics. The football team will continue to play in the Great Northern Conference, and the HON does not have a conference for hockey, tennis and gymnastics. The HON now consists of 10 teams: Ashland, Northwestern, Hayward, Spooner, Cumberland, St. Croix Falls, Ladysmith, Barron, Cameron, and Chetek-Weyerhauser. Like Ashland, Hayward is also a member of the Great Northern Conference for football only. In early 2021, both Ashland and Hayward petitioned the WIAA to move to the HON for football as well, but their petitions were denied.
