Max Blamey rushed for 131 yards on 23 carries and scored 3 touchdowns to lead the Hurley North Stars to a 38-12 win over the Ashland Oredockers on August 27th at Weikal Field. Hurley's wishbone offense piled up 388 yards rushing, and 6 players rushed for at least 42 yards, averaging 7.1 yards per rushing attempt. In addition to Blamey's 131 yards, Tad Wyka had 56 yards, Carter Hall had 50, Ty Gilbertson rushed for 47, Tony Cummings 45, and Derek Ransanici had 42.

Blamey scored the first two North Star touchdowns on runs of 4 and 1 yard. After the Oredockers' Parker Goodreau put Ashland on the board with a 48 yard TD run to make the score 16-6 midway through the second quarter, Ransanici scored from a yard out with just over a minute to go in the half. Hurley added their third two-point conversion to make the score 24-6 at halftime.
The third quarter was scoreless, but Blamey scored his third touchdown of the game on a 6-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter. The two-point conversion increased the North Stars' lead to 32-6. After the ensuing kickoff, the Oredockers drove to Hurley's 30-yard line. Quarterback Kade Jolma had to come out of the game due to an injury time out. Backup QB Ty O'Bey came in for one play and threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Kruzan. The conversion was no good. Hurley then closed the scoring on a 44-yard run by Carter Hall with three minutes remaining.

The Oredockers totalled 205 yards, with 64 coming on the ground and 141 through the air. Jolma was 11 for 23 passing for 111 yards and had one pass intercepted.
