Chequamegon Bay Invitational Cross Country Meet |
The Ashland Boys finished 5th in the 13-team Chequamegon Bay Cross Country Invitational on Thursday, August 26th, at the Chequamegon Bay Gold Club. The Oredocker Girls, despite Adeline Bauer's 5th place finish, did not field the minimum number of runners and were unranked.
The boys were led by Jackson Fiamoncini, who finished 14th with a time of 20:10.2. He was followed closely by Dylan Uitto in 17th place in 20:28.9. Dylan Anderson was 21st, and 4 Oredocker runners were bunched from 46th through 57th: Michael Zunker at 46th, Deryk Parduhn 50th, Nick Pully 52nd, and Lucas Herron 52nd.
Northwestern, led by Emmett Johnson, who won the race by more than a minute ahead of the 2nd place runner, won the team championship, Followed by Chequamegon, Superior, Solon Springs/Northwood, and Ashland.

In the girls race, sophomore Adeline Bauer was 5th with a time of 21:09.4, less than a minute behind the winner, Fran Peterson of Barron. Ashland's Claire Johnson was 40th and Madilyn Martin was 62nd. Tomahawk won the team title, followed by Northwestern, Chequamegon, and Superior.
In the middle school races, the Ashland Girls finished first among six schools and the boys took second place out of 7 schools competing.
