Oredockers Finish Season With 33-8 Win Over Antigo
The Ashland Oredockers closed out the 2021 season with a rescheduled game against the Antigo Red Robin’s on October 21st at Oredocker Stadium. The game had originally been scheduled for September 10th, but was cancelled due to COVID-19 issues for both teams.

Neither team scored in the first quarter, but the Oredockers stopped the Robins on a 4th-down-and-1 at their own 39. A 15-yard run by Lustig and runs of 4 and 15 by Parker Goodreau gave Ashland a first down at the 5. On the first play of the second period, on 3rd and goal, quarterback Kade Jolma rolled to his left to avoid a sack and threw a 3-yard pass through a tight window to Marques Kruzan in the end zone. Cody Lustig kicked the extra point with 11:50 to go in the half. An Antigo punt pinned the Oredockers back at they 20-yard line. Ashland faced a 3rd-and-15 from the 15-yard line when Jolma lofted a pass to Kruzan, who had gotten behind the defender. Kruzan caught the pass in stride at midfield and took it the distance for an 85-yard touchdown. This time, Lustig’s extra point was wide and Ashland led, 13-0 with 9:05 left. The Oredockers then recovered a Red Robins’ fumbled in Antigo territory and drove to the 9. Jolma scrambled in for the touchdown from there with 5:39 left and the Oredockers led 19-0 at the half.
In the second half, Hunter Chenier scored on an 11-yard run with 3:36 to go in the 3rd quarter. Lustig’s kick made it 26-0. The final Oredocker score came with 9:14 to go. Antigo moved into Ashland territory, but Goodreau picked off a pass and returned it 73 yards for the touchdown. Lustily again added the extra point to make it 33-0.

Antigo added averted a shutout when Be Beattie scored on a 15-yard run against the Oredocker reserves with 2:27 remaining. The Red Robins added the two-point conversion. The originally scheduled game was counted as a forfeit by Ashland to Antigo, and that game counted in the final Great Northern Conference standings. But the statistics from this game will count in the final conference statistics. So the Oredockers finished with an overall record of 3 wins and 7 losses, 2-5 in the GNC.
